ABOUT THE FILMMAKER
Liz Lachman is an EMMY AWARD winning musician and composer, a GOLDEN REEL AWARD winning music editor, and a BMI TV MUSIC AWARD winner.
As a filmmaker her latest short psychological drama, PIN-UP, starring Angela Sarafyan (WESTWORLD) and Christina Chang (THE GOOD DOCTOR) has won 30 film festival awards world-wide and Liz is now in development on the feature version.
Her original screenplay, RHYTHM, about the first all-girl mixed race big band in the 1940’s, is a Semi-Finalist in the PAGE International Screenplay awards and is currently being shopped with producer Allyn Stewart (SULLY), and her screenplay, DICKINSON, which reveals the true story of Emily Dickinson, now produced by Lora Kennedy and Cindy Tolan, was a Quarter Finalist in the Academy Nicholl Fellowships. Liz’s comedy feature script, FREE CHICKIE, placed in the top 15% Nicholl and was a quarter finalist in the Page Awards and is now in development.
Liz is in post-production on a documentary feature she shot, called: SUSAN FENIGER: FORKED which follows her partner of 25 years, chef Susan Feniger (of Border Grill and Socalo restaurants and TV Food Network) as she travels the world gathering street food recipes for her first solo restaurant in Los Angeles. It wasn’t pretty BUT…it begat Liz’s hilarious and misery-filled travel blogs which she collected into a soon-to-be published book titled: NO ESCAPE: My horrible food travels with Susan Feniger…a love story.” The book chronicles being dragged around the world with the bubbly “love it all” chef, while Liz hates, well … almost everything
